As my first post, I would like to talk about an interesting blog I've discovered.
Speak Quietly is written by a public librarian named Scott Douglas. His initial purpose for the blog was to write about his journey in having a book published. What has developed is an interesting and humorous detail of different library-related themes. Recently, he has discussed ALA and a critique they are facing on their stance on censorship. He also discusses less serious topics such as a librarian's role in the Oscars and his list of Top 10 Reasons to be a Librarian, featured on literary website McSweeneys.net.
With his blog posts he brings certain topics to light without being too reverent. If you are in the Library Science field, it is certainly worth taking a look at his blog. It is both informative and entertaining.
This blog will serve as a way to document and provide a directory of some of the more interesting, humorous or insightful items on the internet.
If you are a fan of humor, music, art, films and literature, then please check back for future posts!
